About Linda
Esse, the Latin infinitive meaning “to be”. From this we get the English word essence. Essence—the very core of someone or something. The present tense in English: am, is, and are.
Our family in 2001
Linda is, first and foremost, a child of The King. He has given her experiences to encourage others in their life’s journey. She hopes you will spend time exploring the site, reading what she has to say, and connecting with her.
Here is who I am: I am loved by the Father. I am made in his image. I am created with purpose. I am made to bring honor to him. I am a child of the King. However imperfectly, it is through that essence I speak, write, steward the land, teach, quilt, make soap, and interact with others.
I am thankful for where God has led me–through joy and sorrow, pain and healing, loss and restoration. These experiences molded me and continue to shape me as I follow a trail I’ve not been on before, taking me along surprising twists and turns.
The mother of five grown adopted children, I live on a farm in the coastal range of Oregon with my husband, Mike, where we raise grass-fed beef and no-spray blueberries. I write children’s books and historical fiction.
